Ali Samad-Khan
President
Ali Samad-Khan is Founder and President of Stamford Risk Analytics. He has over 15 years of experience in risk management and more than 25 years of experience in financial services and consulting.

Ali has advised more than 100 of the world's leading banks; insurance, energy and transportation companies; and national and international regulators on a full range of risk management issues. Key elements of his Modern ERM/ORM framework and methodology have been adopted by leading institutions around the world.
Recognized globally as a thought leader in the risk management space, Ali's provocative articles and white papers have served as a catalyst for change in the way organizations manage risk. For his pioneering work in this field, Ali was named "one of the 100 most influential people in finance" by Treasury & Risk Management magazine. Ali is also a charter member of Who's Who in Risk Management.
Prior to founding Stamford Risk Analytics, Ali served as a Principal in the ERM Practice at Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson), where he was also Global Head of Operational Risk Management Consulting. Previously, Ali was Founder and President of OpRisk Analytics LLC, a software and data provider, which was acquired by SAS in 2003. Before that Ali worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York, where he headed the Operational Risk Group within the Financial Risk Management Practice. Prior to that, he led the Strategic Risk Initiatives Group in the Operational Risk Management Department at Bankers Trust. He has also worked as a policy analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and at the World Bank.
Ali holds a B.A. in Quantitative Economics from Stanford University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Yale University.

Anver Kasmani
Vice President, Finance and Operations
Anver Kasmani is Vice President of Finance and Operations at Stamford Risk Analytics. He has over 25 years’ experience in a variety of senior positions in control functions working with major companies in the financial sector.
Prior to joining Stamford Risk Analytics, Anver worked at MetLife where he was Head of Risk Management and Compliance for the EIME Region. Before that he was Vice President at MetLife Mexico with responsibilities for Finance, Risk Management and Strategic Planning. Anver has also worked both as an internal auditor with MetLife in Spain and as external auditor with Ernst & Young in London.
Anver is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.

Karen Slawinsky
Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Karen Slawinsky is Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Stamford Risk Analytics. She has over 15 years experience in insurance and consulting.
Prior to joining Stamford Risk Analytics, Karen worked as an actuarial consultant and project manager at Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson), where she assisted U.S. and multinational insurance companies in a variety of areas.
Karen’s previous experience includes assisting with enterprise risk management readiness, performing economic value calculations, assisting with appraisals and due diligence for insurance company mergers and acquisitions, managing product reviews of annuity and universal live bonuses, modeling deferred annuities for asset adequacy testing purposes, assisting with the preparation of state filings, serving as the signing actuary for insurance captives and assisting with all aspects of litigation support including exposure and qualitative analysis.
Prior to joining Towers Perrin, Karen worked at Crown Life Insurance Company where she held positions in both the corporate actuarial and pension and investment management areas.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science with a Minor in Management from the University of Calgary. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Joseph Tieng
Vice President, Technology
Joseph Tieng is Vice President of Technology at Stamford Risk Analytics. He has over ten years of experience in software development.
Prior to joining Stamford Risk Analytics, Joseph worked at Citigroup where designed, coded, tested and implemented system enhancements for distributed platforms. He also provided business and technical support for distribution system-based applications.
Previously, Joseph worked as a consultant at OpRisk Analytics, the predecessor to Stamford Risk Analytics, where he developed advanced maximum likelihood estimation distribution fitting and Monte Carlo simulation routines for the OpRisk VaR application.
Joseph holds a BA in Computer Science with a Minor in Economics from New York University and an MBA from Georgetown University.
